In the corporate world and industries, there is always dominance of man over woman, but the scenario is now changing. The reason behind this is probably a confidence gap between man and woman, there is a need for female leaders to spot more talent. How Snowboarding Will Transform Your Career and improve your leadership skill.
Donna Carpenter, CEO of Burton Snowboards says we wanted to create heroes in the company. She helped her husband to lead his company to a higher level. Snowboarding is an adventurous sport and it is about moving to the next level. It’s a sport or adventure which always challenges our self.”
This self-described “accidental entrepreneur” has challenged herself and makes her career.
Burton snowboard sponsors the official uniform of the U.S. Snowboard Team. The Chloe Kim gold winner is also part of it, who is known for her flips on a Burton board. Carpenter in her interview revealed what needed to move the career to the top and how snowboarding can help achieve this. She also talks about various winter sports and her favourite places.
Snowboarding Is A Community
Snowboarding is among one of the greatest innovation. The ski industry is not allowing us to explore the snowboarding. Carpenter says we had to fight.
Snowboarding is more adventurous and hilarious than a sport. It is a culture and a mindset to explore ourselves. Snowboarders express themselves in the mountain, for example, freestyle is one of the expressions from snowboarders. The sport is centred on a free spirit and community.
Burton’s focus on diversity and gender
Snowboarding is founded on diversity but still, there is a long way to go. In the beginning, people never feel included. We bring diversity in the mountain culture. In snowboarding sports, both men and women are equal, there is gender diversity of the culture and our company.
The snowboarding community should be diverse in every aspect; we should make people together from all around the world on the same platform without any discrimination. We should ensure people from various backgrounds and colours should feel welcome and enjoy this sport. The ski areas and winter sports should not get associated with the wealthy only.
Snowboarding Feels Inclusive
Carpenter stated that when the company started making money, we work on how to return this back. In these teenagers help us a lot. In the 1980s, there was no snowboard lesson and no beginner equipment for snowboarding. Its only teenagers were there who started ordering our product and using it on the mountain. We were given a thought of returning it to the teenagers who will not get the opportunity to do that.
From there we lead the foundation of Chill Foundation. Now we are available in more than 17 cities, and we teach more than 2,500 kids how to snowboard and surf each year. Snowboarding helps you to work in the community and develop your own. It will improve your leadership skill and help you to build more endurance. Snowboarding is a fun full and tactful sport.
